Comments: Great site, but need some help...I saw a movie as a kid, about 40 yrs ago, but I can't recall the name of it. I believe David Niven starred in it. There was a reoccuring theme in the movie...whenever the star smelled the odor of burnt onions something happened or someone appeared...I can't recall the details now. The movie may have been listed as a comedy or fantasy. I saw the movie in the 1960's on TV, which means it was probably at least a decade old at that time. Does anyone recognize this movie? Comments: I just finished his book " Send In The Empty Horses " which was both warm & funny. He was not only a great actor from the " Golden Age of Hollywood " but an excellant writer as well. I ordered his book " The Moon's a Ballon " also. Your tribute is great & I will watch David Nivens movies with a newfound appreciation for his talents. Thank you for your tribute.

I was very young when i first saw David Niven in a film, and i fell for him!!I Wanted to marry a man just like him, who was kind funny and a true gentleman. Comments: Having read his Autobiography and listened to his taped autobiography, you understand just how charismatic David Niven was. A great Actor and character, loved by many. And whilst his life was filled with pleasure and pain, he made the most of it.
